Advice Please

My darling Fi is not by any means a fashionisto. His style has come a long way since we started dating and he knows what he likes and pulls off looks most men his age can't (sweater vest anyone?).

The advice: He went and rented his tux, a beautiful two button tux. He also ordered his shirt and tie and vest. Shirt: white. Tie and vest: ivory.

Is this going to look weird? I didn't see it and he said he liked it, but really? Discuss.

I'd guess that it depends on the color of ivory. If it's really yellow it might look odd, but if it's closer to white or maybe even silvery not too bad.

I agree with Blab. I would err on the side of caution and have them all the same.

It depends on what your total color scheme is. Agree with the other brides, the white on the ivory might make the vest seem dirty or faded. Is there a way that you go to the store with them to see them together so that you do not panic on your wedding day about how he looks.
Thanks for the compliment I aim to please and to find fun facts for brides.

I think the others are right, if it's a real ivory (which has more like the tan undertones), I think it can look really great and subtle. If it's yellow, maybe not so much. Is D colorblind? If not, maybe it's okay. Go check it out, I'm stressing out about it already.

I agree, with a true ivory it may look awesome and a good elegant contrast in the suit. Definitely have to check it out and see the contrasts of colors, plus since its the vest and tie and he has a jacket, most of the white shirt will be covered

Thanks ladies! so i talked to fi and expressed our concerns (he was mortified by the way) and he said the sales lady at the tux place said she was surprised how much she liked the combo together. I actually trust this sales person, I had met with her 2x previously and she was very helpful and seeminly fashion smart. (but I ordered an extra ivory shirt just in case!)

Hard to give any advice, sight unseen. As the only groom 'round these parts, though, my suggestion is always to make sure that the bride's and groom's wardrobes work together, suit the time and location, FIT well, and are photographable. Beyond that, I think there are no rules. Ivory on white could be very nice.
